Naglabas ng tsunami warning ang Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) nitong Miyerkules ng umaga, Abril 3, kasunod ng malakas na lindol na tumama sa bansang Taiwan.

Ayon sa tsunami warning ng Phivolcs, inaasahang magkakaroon ng “high tsunami waves” bandang 8:33 a.m. hanggang 10:33 a.m.

“It is forecasted that the first tsunami waves will arrive between 08:33 AM to 10:33 AM, 03 Apr 2024 (PST). It may not be the largest and these waves may continue for hours,” saad ng ahensya.

Kaugnay nito, nag-abiso na rin ang Phivolcs na agad nang lumikas ang mga taong nakatira sa baybaying dagat partikular sa Batanes Group of Islands, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, at Isabela.

"Owners of boats in harbors, estuaries or shallow coastal water of the above-mentioned provinces should secure their boats and move away from the waterfront. Boats already at sea during this period should stay offshore in deep waters until further advised," abiso ng Phivolcs.
