Nagpahayag ng suporta at pagbati si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. para sa bagong hepe ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na si Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.

“Police General Marbil, you have my full confidence and my full support, as you begin to champion a police that is pro-God, pro-country, pro-people, pro-environment,” ani Marcos nitong Lunes, Abril 1, na inulat ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

“Let us work closely with you in addressing emerging threats, such as cybercrime, terrorism, and transnational crimes,” dagdag niya.

Pinaalalahanan din ng pangulo si Marbil na patuloy na isulong ang “highest standards of professionalism” at bigyan ng magandang serbisyo ang mga Pilipino.

Inanunsyo ang pagkatalaga kay Marbil bilang bagong hepe ng PNP nitong Lunes sa gitna ng change of command at retirement honors para kay Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr. sa Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City.

Si Marbil ay isang miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1991.

Bago ang kaniyang pagkatalaga bilang pang-30 PNP Chief, nagsilbi si Marbil bilang head ng Directorate for Comptrollership; Regional Director ng Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8), at Director ng Highway Patrol Group (HPG).
