Inanunsyo ng Department of Justice (DOJ) nitong Martes, Marso 19, ang pagsisimula ng legal na paglilitis ng Davao City Prosecutor's Office laban kay Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy at mga kasamahan nito, na nahaharap umano sa mga alegasyon kaugnay ng “sexual at child abuse."
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng DOJ na ang pagsisimula ng legal proceeding ay kasunod ng direktiba mula sa resolusyong “AAA v. Quiboloy et.al.”, na inilabas noong Marso 5, 2024 ni DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla.
May kaugnayan umano ang naturang paglilitis sa mga alegasyon ng “sexual at child abuse” na ibinabato laban sa pastor.
“Specifically, Apollo C. Quiboloy faces charges under Section 5(b) of Republic Act No. 7610 (Other Sexual Abuse), focusing on the protection of children against abuse, exploitation, and discrimination. Furthermore, additional charges under Section 10(a) of the same act (Other Acts of Child Abuse) have been filed against Quiboloy, along with Jackielyn W. Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid C. Canada, and Sylvia Cemanes, aimed at safeguarding children’s psychological and emotional health,” anang DOJ.

“Moreover, the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office has endorsed a complaint for Qualified Trafficking in Persons to the DOJ main office. Pursuant to Department Order 144, the Task Force on Women and Children and Against Trafficking In Persons was directed to prepare the necessary Information against Respondents Pastor Apollo .C Quiboloy, Jackielyn W. Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid C. Canada, And Slyvia Cemañes for the crime of Qualified Human Trafficking under Section 4 (a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, pursuant to the Resolution promulgated on 05 March 2024 by the Secretary of Justice. This information was filed before the appropriate court in Pasig City,” dagdag nito.
Samantala, sinabi naman ni Remulla na nananatili ang dedikasyon ng DOJ na protektahan ang mga bata mula sa mga pang-aabuso.
“The Department of Justice is dedicated to the enforcement of our laws and the protection of our children from exploitation and abuse. This case underscores our commitment to hold accountable those who would harm our society’s most vulnerable,” ani Remulla.
“Let this serve as a reminder that no individual, regardless of their position, is above the law,” stated the Secretary of Justice,” dagdag pa niya.
Matatandaang kamakailan lamang ay inihayag ni DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla ang pagsasampa ng naturang mga kaso ay may kinalaman sa umano’y krimeng ginawa ni Quiboloy noong 2011 laban sa isang babaeng 17-anyos pa lamang nang mga panahong iyon.

Samantala, nito lamang ding Martes nang lagdaan ni Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri ang “arrest order” laban kay Quiboloy matapos nitong sunod-sunod na hindi humarap sa pagdinig ng Senado upang sagutin ang mga alegasyon ng pang-aabusong ibinabato laban sa kaniya.

Iniimbestigahan ng Senate Committee on Women, Children Family Relations and Gender Equality ang mga alegasyon ng pang-aabusong kinasasangkutan ni Quiboloy at ng KOJC.
Kaugnay nito, ipinahayag ni Senador Risa Hontiveros, chairperson ng komite, ang kaniyang pasasalamat sa paglagda ni Zubiri, at sinabing napapanahon ang paglabas ng arrest order laban kay Quiboloy para umano sa bawat babae ngayong Buwan ng Kababaihan.
