Naglabas na ng closure order ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) laban sa viral resort sa pamosong Chocolate Hills sa Bohol nitong 2023.
Sa pahayag ng DENR nitong Miyerkules, nilinaw na temporary closure lamang ang kautusan ng ahensya nitong Setyembre 6, 2023
laban Captain’s Peak Resort.
Ang naturang lugar ay idineklarang protected area batay na rin sa Proclamation No. 1037 na inilabas ni dating Pangulong Fidel Ramos noong Hulyo 1, 1997.

“In the case of the Captain’s Peak Resort, the DENR issued a Temporary Closure Order last September 6, 2023, and a Notice of Violation to the project proponent last January 22, 2024 for operating without an ECC,” giit ng DENR.
Depensa ng DENR, inaksyunan na nila ang usapin matapos silang magpalabas ng kautusan noong 2023 upang hindi na ito makapag-operate.
Binanggit pa ng DENR ang naging aksyon nila nitong Enero 22 kung saan naglabas sila ng Notice of Violation laban sa resort dahil sa pag-o-operate ng walang kaukulang Environment Compliance Certificate (ECC).
“As of March 13, 2024, the Regional Executive Director Paquito D. Melicor issued a Memorandum directing PENRO (Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office) Bohol Ariel Rica to create a team to conduct inspection at Captain’s Peak for its compliance with the Temporary Closure Order,” anang DENR.
Inaalam pa ng ahensya ng napatituluhan ng may-ari ng resort ang lupain bago pa mailabas ang Proclamation 1037. Matatandaang naging viral ang resort dahil kitang-kita na sinira nito ang kagandahan ng Chocolate Hills.
