Sa kaniyang pakikiisa sa pagsisimula ng Ramadan sa Martes, Marso 12, hinikayat ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang publikong buksan ang kanilang mga puso sa pagpapatawad.

“Today marks the beginning of the sacred journey of Ramadan, a time of reflection and spiritual growth where the virtues of compassion, empathy, and generosity are upheld and practice fervently,” saad ni Marcos sa isang mensaheng inilabas ng Office of the President nitong Linggo, Marso 10.

"Truly, this demonstration of faith speaks volumes of their deep introspection and shared devotion, allowing them to create a stronger bond in their communities through their beliefs," dagdag niya.

Ayon pa sa pangulo, pinaaalala ng Ramadan ang “rich diversity” ng kultura at relihiyon sa Pilipinas.

Hindi rin maipagkakaila, aniya, ang malaking kontribusyon ng mga kapatid ng Muslim sa kasaysayan ng bansa.

"It is my hope that this month-long celebration will strengthen our kinship, open our hearts to forgive past grievances, and embrace a spirit of harmony that will redound to our collective progress,” panawagan ni Marcos.

“Together, let us build a future where love and understanding prevail and where the light of hope shines brightly for all," saad pa niya.

Sa Martes daw magsisimula ang Ramadan ngayong taon matapos hindi makita ang buwan nitong Linggo ng gabi.
