Nasa 706 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) ang pinalaya na mula sa New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Ayon kay Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Gregorio Catapang, Jr., mataas ang naturang bilang kumpara sa 469 na pinalaya sa kaparehong panahon noong 2023.
Sa kabuuan aniya, nasa 12,053 na ang pinalayang presyo sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

“The BuCor continue to adhere to the planned strategy of Justice Secretary Crispin Remulla in addressing overpopulation in the penal system by reducing admissions, increasing releases, and expanding our jail facilities,” ani Catapang.
Sinabi rin ni Catapang nitong Huwebes na binuksan na nila ang 5,000 metro kuwadradong visitor's park sa loob ng maximum security camp ng NBP sa Muntinlupa City.
“This is a very good project that will benefit directly the PDL’s family since most of their visitors here are children who are brought along by their adult relatives. At least they can play around here just like normal kids in the park,” banggit pa ng opisyal.
