Nag-babu na ang basketball player na si James Yap sa kaniyang numerong 18 matapos ang paglipat niya mula sa "Rain or Shine Elasto Painters."

Sa paglipat niya ng bagong koponan, bibitbitin niya ang numerong 15.

"Farewell Eighteen… the jersey number I’ve always had since I started playing serious basketball… from Hua Siong College Iloilo, to UE, to PBL, and then PBA," anang Yap.

"I guess it’s safe to say that this number will always be a part of me, my career, my whole life. Thank you God for the privilege, the blessings, the awards, and championships I got, while carrying this number. Grateful ako sa lahat ng hirap at lahat ng saya na dumating sa buhay ko, habang bitbit ko ang number na’to."

Noong Enero 29 ay nag-post na siya ng farewell at pasasalamat sa nabanggit na team.

"After much prayer and reflection, I have decided to end my journey as an ElastoPainter. I have truly appreciated all those who have supported me during this time and thank you for making me part of your family for 7 years. I also want to extend my gratitude to the team’s management for graciously approving my request for release and allowing me to move forward to begin the next chapter in my life. I will always be grateful for this team @bayanngros , for all the memories, and for the lessons we went through together. 🙏🏀," aniya.

Si James Yap, ay ama ni Bimby Aquino Yap, na anak naman nila ng dating misis na si Queen of All Media Kris Aquino.

Sa ngayon ay may sariling pamilya na ulit si Yap.
