Pinagkaloooban ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ng Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award ang Marikina City Government bunsod ng kanilang ipinamalas na katangi-tanging public service at good governance.
Nabatid na ang parangal ay ipinagkaloob ng DILG sa lungsod nitong Lunes, at personal na tinanggap ni Marikina City Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro.

Bukod dito, pinagkalooban din ng DILG ang Marikina City Government ng P2.3 milyong incentive check, na personal na iniabot ni DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin kay Teodoro sa awarding ceremony na isinagawa sa Marikina City Hall.
Ayon kay Agustin, ang Seal of Good Governance ay isang pagkilala na sumisimbolo sa commitment at dedikasyon ng mga local government units (LGU) upang tumalima sa highest standards of governance.
Sa kanyang acceptance speech, nagpaabot naman ng labis na pasasalamat si Teodoro sa DILG dahil sa pagkilala sa collective efforts ng city government ng Marikina.
Sinabi ni Teodoro na, “Kailangang maintindihan natin na mahalaga ang may pamantayan. Mahalaga na mayroon tayong standard na sinusunod.”
Aniya pa, “setting the standard for transparency and integrity and more importantly efficiently and effectively deliver the services of the government, thank you very much.”
Pinasalamatan rin naman ni Teodoro si Agustin at ang buong DILG dahil sa kanilang suporta at gabay na nakatulong sa lungsod upang makamit ang naturang pagkilala. “Salamat sa inspiration niyo at sa guidance. Maraming salamat po.”
Samantala, sinabi naman ni Agustin na ang parangal ay repleksiyon ng sama-samang pagsusumikap ng mga lider, public servants at ng buong komunidad ng Marikina.
“The Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund, a financial reward for your city's outstanding performance, stands as a testament to the national recognition and support garnered,” ayon kay Agustin.
Dagdag pa niya, ang P2.3 milyon mula sa DILG ay hindi lamang monetary reward kundi investment sa kinabukasan ng Marikina.
Nagpaalala rin naman si Agustin na, “As we celebrate this achievement, let us not forget the responsibilities that come with it. The Seal of Good Local Governance is a constant reminder that the expectations are high, and the bar has been set. Let us use this recognition and the accompanying incentive fund as motivation to strive for even greater heights in the service of our people.”
