Exploration issues sa WPS, nireresolba na! Malampaya gas field, mauubusan na ng supply -- Marcos
Ireresolba na ng pamahalaan ang usapin sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) upang masimulan na ang energy exploration project nito dahil nauubusan na ng supply ang Malampaya gas field, ayon sa pahayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. nitong Sabado.
“We are still at a deadlock right now. It is in a conflict area. So, that’s another thing that we have to try and resolve to see what role any countries play,” reaksyon ni Marcos nang tanungin ng Japanese media sa hinggil sa usapin sa maritime region at Malampaya gas field.
“It’s still of course the position of the Philippines that this is not in a conflict area. This is very clearly within our EEZ [exclusive economic zone]… within our baselines, within the maritime territory, the Philippines,” anang punong ehekutibo.
Paliwanag ng Pangulo, tatlong taon nang nakikipag-usap ang Pilipinas kaugnay ng usapin. Gayunman, aminado si Marcos na maliit pa ang iniusad ng pag-uusap.
Binanggit din ni Marcos na nagiging mas mahalaga ang liquefied natural gas (LNG) sa Pilipinas, lalo pa't pinalalakas na ng bansa ang paggamit ng renewable energy.
“We are seeing LNG as being the transition between purely fossil fuel, coal, to the more bigger mix of renewables. But this — the move to renewables, I think we are all discovering is not as easy as we had hoped and so we need a transition period to give ourselves time to bring the infrastructure and to allow the technologies to develop,” pahabol pa ni Marcos.
