Nagdesisyon sina House Secretary General Reginald Velasco at MMDA acting chairman Romando Artes nitong Martes na huhulihin ang mga driver ng mga sasakyang gumagamit ng plakang "8" at kukumpiskahin na rin ang mga expired o pekeng plaka.
"I met with Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Acting Chairman Atty. Romando S. Artes, where we discussed that using unauthorized and illegal special plates should not be tolerated as it threatens public safety and undermines the integrity of the vehicle registration system," ani Velasco.

Nauna nang nagpalabas ng memorandum si Velasco na nag-uutos na isuko na ang lahat ng lumang plakang "8" at sinabing walang sinumang kongresista ang nabigyan ng protocol plates sa 19th Congress.
"The House leadership is committed to upholding the law and ensuring vehicle identification plates' proper and lawful use," pahayag pa ni Velasco.
