Proud na ipinakilala ng multimedia arts student na si Erwin Dee ang “Tara,” isang ride-hailing app na magiging mas mura umano kaysa sa ibang car-booking services.

Sa isang Facebook post, ikinuwento ni Dee na nagsimula ang kaniyang paglikha ng Tara app noong Disyembre 2022.

Nang mga araw na iyon, may nakita raw siyang mga post ng Tiktok users na nagsasabing nami-miss nila ang “Uber days,” kung saan mas mura umano ang pamasahe at nasa ₱300 lamang daw ang bayad kahit malayo o mahaba ang biyahe.

“I thought, ‘What if gumawa ako ng ride-hailing app? What if may solution para gawing cheaper ulit yung fare?’ May background naman ako sa programming. I also have the resources. All I need is time to make it happen,” kuwento ni Dee.

Dahil dito, tinatayang siyam na buwan daw siyang nagsagawa ng pananaliksik hanggang sa nalikha nga niya ang naturang ride-hailing app.

“I learned from my research prof in college that research is all about finding and filling in a gap. In ride-hailing industry, I know most are aware, there is a considerable gap that needs to be filled. For example, high booking fares due to surcharges. Madali lang naman ibaba yung fare kung ako lang ang magdedesisyon,” saad ng multimedia arts student.

“But the question is, paano ibababa yung fare na hindi makaka-affect sa earnings ng drivers? How do we make it sustainable sa side ng drivers? This is the gap that I'm filling in.”

Kaugnay nito, ipinakilala ni Dee ang kaniyang imbensyon na Tara app para sa mas mura umanong pamasahe.

“Tara is not just another ride-hailing app that tries to be everything for everyone. Tara is the beacon of change the ride-hailing industry has been waiting for,” paliwanag ni Dee.

Proud naman niyang ibinahagi na magiging mas mura ang booking fare ng Tara, at wala raw itong “surcharges.”

“By cheaper, I mean yung standard. It is in accordance with LTFRB's fare matrix. Strictly no surcharges. Users can save up to 300 pesos especially sa long distance booking and during rush hour,” saad ni Dee.

Ayon pa sa kaniya, 0% daw ang komisyon ng Tara sa mga driver nito. Kaya naman, 100% umano ng bayad ay mapupunta mismo sa mga driver.

“I made this decision mainly because I don't want them to feel na nagwowork sila under someone. They are independent. Bukod doon, kung iisipin, malaki ang 20% sa total earnings per day. Pwede nila i-spend iyon sa food or gas,” ani Dee.

Bukod dito, plano rin daw niyang ilaan ang 80% ng ad revenue ng Tara para sa user incentives.

“Possible user incentives would be promo codes and monthly bonus for top-performing drivers. Naka-attribute sa names ng respective advertisers yung user incentives. It's like a mix of advertisement and charity,” saad ni Dee.
