Mayor Lacuna: Payout sa 203K seniors, malapit nang matapos

Patung-patong na kaso ang iniharap ng isang abogado laban sa tatlong pulis ng Quezon City kaugnay ng viral na road rage incident nitong nakaraang buwan.

Kabilang sa kinasuhan ng Oppression, Irregularities in the Performance of Duties at Incompetence alinsunod na rin sa Rule 21 ng NAPOLCOM (National Police Commission) Memorandum Circular 2016-002.

Binigyang-diin ni Atty. Raymond Fortun ang pagiging concerned citizen sa pagsasampa nito ng mga kaso sa QC People's Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) laban kina PSSG Darwin Peralta, PSSG Joel Aviso, at PEMS Armando Carr, pawang nakatalaga sa QC Police District-Traffic Sector 4 (Kamuning). 

Idinahilan ni Fortun, walang ginawang aksyon ang tatlong pulis matapos unang dalhin sa kanila ang siklista at si Wilfredo Gonzales upang maimbestigahan sana kaugnay ng insidente. 

Ang magkabilang-panig aniya ay ini-refer lamang ng mga nasabing pulis sa Galas Police Station kinagabihan.

“Despite the clear and imbalanced status of the parties, the same police officers failed to protect the rights of the cyclist when they failed to provide a legal counsel for him so that the latter would be duly appraised of his rights.  Further, they failed to secure the CCTV footages in the area in order to ferret out the real facts in the conflicting statements made by the parties.  Finally, and for reasons known only to them, and despite there being sufficient basis to do so, the same police officers failed to file the appropriate charges,” ani Fortun. 

Nag-ugat ang usapin sa kasahan ng baril ni Gonzales ang siklista matapos masagi umano ng huli ang kanyang kotse sa Welcome Rotonda, boundary ng Maynila at Quezon City nitong Agosto 8.
