Ibinahagi ng abogadong si Atty. Raymond Fortun na bagama't tila ayaw na raw magsampa ng pormal na reklamo ang biktimang siklista na umano'y kinasahan ng baril ng isang Wilfredo Gonzales, ipagpapatuloy umano ng abogado ang mga nararapat na hakbang laban dito.

Sa kaniyang Facebook post na may pamagat na "JUSTICE IS NOT DEAD" nitong Agosto 27, inisa-isa ni Fortun ang mga hakbang na gagawin niya kahit na umatras sa asunto ang siklista.

"There can be no criminal case without the cooperation of the victim. But that does not mean that we, the public, are left helpless," ani Fortun.

"This week, out of a pure civic duty for the good of the country, I will be filing:

"1. a complaint with the LTO for the suspension/revocation of the driver’s license of Mr. Wilfredo Gonzales for driving in a reckless manner that threatened the life of AB;

2. a complaint with the Firearms and License Office at Camp Crame, for the revocation of any and all gun licenses issued to Mr. Gonzales AND HIS FAMILY (N.B. I have information that he has relatives who are also police officers), including permits to carry outside of their residence; and

3. if he is still connected with the government in any manner, a complaint for conduct unbecoming of a public official under R.A. 6713," aniya.

"I shall also furnish a copy of the video to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House, for them to decide whether the same can be the basis for a congressional investigation, in aid of legislation, in order that the August 8,2023 incident will not be repeated and that the citizenry would feel safer as they traverse our streets."

Kaya pakiusap ni Fortun sa mga tao, "Please pray for my and my family’s safety. I will be dealing with people who have scared one vlogger and one cyclist; I expect nothing less. But your prayers will be my armor, and so I will not fear."

"In closing, I recall these classic questions from that public school in Diliman that I came from, in the face of oppression: 'Kung Hindi Tayo Kikibo, Sinong Kikibo? Kung Di Tayo Kikilos, Sinong Kikilos?'"

Batay naman sa comment section ng kaniyang post, marami sa mga netizen ang sumasang-ayon at sumusuporta sa balak gawin ng abogado.

Samantala, ni-revoke na umano ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang lisensya ng baril ni Gonzales sa naganap na road rage incident sa Quezon City.

Ito ang kinumpirma ni PNP public information office chief, Brig. Gen. Red Maranan sa panayam sa telebisyon nitong Lunes, Agosto 28.

Ang naging hakbang aniya ng PNP Firearms and Explosive Office (FEO) ay batay na rin sa direktiba ni PNP chief, Gen. Benjamin Acorda.

Pagdidiin ni Maranan, tatlong baril ang pag-aari ni Gonzales.

Kapag revoked na aniya ang License to Own and Possess Firearm (LTOPF), susulatan pa ng PNP ang may-ari nito upang mai-surrender ang mga ito sa FEO.

Aniya, sakaling hindi naisuko ang mga baril, kukunin ito ng pulisya sa pamamagitan ng search warrant.

Nagbabala rin ang PNP na sakaling hindi naisuko ang mga baril ay kakasuhan ito ng illegal possession of firearms.

Matatandaang viral sa social media ang footage ng pagbunot ng baril ni Gonzales sa harap ng nakaalitang siklista sa Welcome Rotonda sa boundary ng Maynila at Quezon City nitong Agosto 8.

Nitong Linggo, Agosto 27, sumuko si Gonzales kay Quezon City Police District chief, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

Idinagdag pa ni Torre, hindi pa naghahain ng kaso ang siklista laban kay Gonzales na nauna nang nagsabing nagkasundo na umano sila ng biktima.
