"Stop killing children! When did our police officers turn into child killers?"

"There are no words that describe our disgust for Sabillo's actions. He is clearly an unstable, violent man. Shooting an unarmed person four times shows a clear intent to kill. Even a lifetime in prison won't be enough to repay for the future he took away from John Francis," pahayag ni Akbayan Party President Rafaela David nitong Biyernes, Agosto 25.

"What was Sabillo doing in civilian clothes flagging down John Francis' brother? If he was on duty, shouldn't he have been in uniform? If all he wanted was vehicle documentation, shouldn't he, a trained police officer, have been able to handle the situation without using force at all? We grieve with the Ompad family, and once again call for a full reformation of the Philippine National Police (PNP). We demand immediate justice for John Francis and his family," saad pa niya.

“We are saddened to learn about the incident; such acts of violence have no place in our society; we strongly condemn the murder of the victim, Mr. John Francis Ompad. This is an isolated incident that does not represent the vast majority of PNP officers that go beyond their duties every day to make the public feel comfortable and secure,” aniya.
