Kasalukuyang hinahanap ng Archdiocese ng Lingayen-Dagupan sa Pangasinan ang isang imahen ng santo ng probinsya na pitong taon na umanong nawawala.

Sa ulat ng CBCP nitong Biyernes, Agosot 18, napag-alaman umano ng Archdiocese na napalitan ang imahen ng San Jacinto de Polonia ng isang replika pitong taon na ang nakararaan.

“I have mandated the parish priest to explore all means to recover the missing image of San Jacinto de Polonia in the parish church,” ani Archbishop Socrates Villegas.

“Let me also appeal to those who have lent cooperation to the switching of the images to listen to the voice of conscience and restore the image to its rightful owner, the Catholic Church,” dagdag niya.

Base umano sa isang archdiocesan investigation, nakumpirmang ang kasalukuyang imahen sa gilid ng simbahan sa bayan ng San Jacinto ay hindi na orihinal.

Sinabi naman ni Archbishop Villegas na maaaring nangyari ang paglipat ng mga imahen sa pagitan ng Agosto 17 at Setyembre 23, 2016.

“Time and events will tell if we will succeed in recovering the image of San Jacinto de Polonia. It is indeed a demand of Catholic morality that the image be returned,” aniya.

Inihayag din ng arsobispo na dapat maibalik na ang ninakaw sa nagmamay-ari nito.

“Otherwise, the keeper of the stolen object lives in sin,” ani Archbishop Villegas.

“We also sin against this commandment by willfully cooperating in the act of taking or keeping stolen objects,” saad pa niya.
