Matapos ang balitang sa “Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.)” pa rin ang pagmamay-ari ng titulo at trademark na “Eat Bulaga!” matapos itong i-renew sa loob ng 10 taon ng Intellectual Property Office of The Philippines (IPOPHIL), tila nagpatutsada naman dito si "E.A.T." host Joey De Leon sa pamamagitan ng kaniyang X account (dating tawag sa Twitter).

Ayon sa tweet ni Joey, "RENEWAL versus NUMERAL?"

Ni-renew ng 10 taon: 'Eat Bulaga!' trademark pagmamay-ari ng TAPE, Inc.

Ayon sa legal counsel ng TAPE na si Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, natanggap ng kanilang kampo noong Agosto 4 ang Certificate of Renewal of Registration para sa Eat Bulaga! trademark, at ang bisa nito ay hanggang 2033 pa.

“Yes, we received the certificate of renewal yesterday. Since it has a term of 10 years so TAPE Inc. owns the trademark of ‘Eat Bulaga’ until 2033,” aniya.

“Marami kasi ang nagsasabi na since nag expire ang registration ng TAPE sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ trademark, free for all na ito. This is not true. TAPE Inc. renewed its registration and we are happy na na-issue na ang certificate of renewal which makes TAPE Inc. the continuous owner of trademark ‘Eat Bulaga’ until 2033.”

“Importante ito kasi kung baga sa lupa ang certificate of registration and in this case certificate of renewal of TAPE Inc ay ang titulo nya to prove its ownership over the trademark ‘Eat Bulaga.’”

“From the start IPO recognized TAPE Inc. as the prior registrant of ‘Eat Bulaga’ trademark. This renewal is a testament that TAPE was and remains the registered owner of the trademark ‘Eat Bulaga,” paliwanag ng abogado.

Nangyari ito sa kabila ito ng inihaing kaso nina Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, at Joey de Leon o TVJ laban sa TAPE at GMA Network na kanselahin ang trademark registration ng TAPE sa “Eat Bulaga!” title pati na ang logo nito, na tatagal pa raw ang pagdinig hanggang Setyembre 2023.
