“A sweet treat. 🤤⁣”

Ipinasilip ng National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) ang larawan ng N11, ang ikalawa umanong pinakamalaking “star-forming region” na makikita sa satellite galaxy ng Milky Way na Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC).

“Within our neighboring galaxy, the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), lies a sweet-looking region marked with billowing pink clouds of glowing gas that look like cotton candy,” saad ng NASA sa isang Instagram post nitong Sabado, Agosto 5, kalakip ang larawan ng N11.

“This is N11, and its distinctive fluffy shape comes from the process of star formation.⁣”

Ayon pa sa NASA, makikita sa N11 ang ilan sa mga kilalang massive stars sa kalawakan.

“Three successive generations of stars, each of which formed farther away from the center of the nebula than the last, have created shells of gas and dust. These shells were blown away from the newborn stars in the turmoil of their energetic birth and early life,” anang NASA.

“Star clusters abound in the region, including the red bloom of nebula LHA 120-N 11A (upper left) and NGC 1761 at the bottom of the image, which is a group of massive hot young stars busily pouring intense ultraviolet radiation out into space. Within the LMC, N11 is surpassed in size and activity only by the immense Tarantula Nebula,” saad pa nito.⁣
