Inihayag ng Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) na magsasampa sila ng kaso laban sa security guard na naghagis ng aso mula sa footbridge sa Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) sa Quezon City.
Sa isang pahayag nitong Miyerkules, Hulyo 12, kinondena ng PAWS ang ginawa ng security guard na inilarawan ng organisasyon na isang “act of cruelty.”
“We are demanding an immediate investigation of this incident and we have gotten in touch with witnesses so that we can file a case,” pahayag ng PAWS.
Binanggit din ng organisasyon ang Animal Welfare Act na naglalayong ipagbawal ang pagpatay o pagpapahirap sa mga hayop, tulad ng aso.

“The guard’s behavior and the act of killing the puppy is certainly what the Animal Welfare Act seeks to punish,” anang PAWS.
“PAWS is committed to file a case and hold accountable the person responsible for this horrific cruelty,” dagdag nito.
Ayon sa PAWS, nakatanggap sila ng mahigit 190 emails mula sa concerned citizens hinggil sa insidente.
“We are as outraged as you are and we are taking steps in filing this case with the help of a witness. We appeal to the public to refrain from flooding our email with forwarded posts on social media. Our inbox must be freed up to receive draft affidavits from witnesses and those who will help us file the case in Court,” saad pa ng organisasyon.
“Thank you for speaking out against animal cruelty.”
Nangyari umano ang pagtapon ng guwardiya sa tuta mula sa footbridge na nagkokonekta sa SM North EDSA The Block at Trinoma noong Martes, Hulyo 11, nang mabigo siyang mapaalis sa footbridge ang mga batang nag-aalaga rito.
Nasawi umano ang tuta, habang sinisante naman ng SM North Edsa ang nasabing guwardiya.
