Isa sa mga celebrity na nagpahayag ng simpatya sa nangyari sa komedyanteng si Awra Briguela ay ang DJ at naging housemate ng "Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10 Celebrity Edition" na si Karen Bordador, na minsan nang nakulong ng halos limang taon dahil sa isang krimeng wala naman umano siyang kinalaman, na nangyari noong 2016.
Biglang nagbago ang takbo ng buhay ni Karen ng ilang segundo lang matapos maisipang magtungo noon sa bahay ng kaniyang ex-boyfriend na si Emilio Lim, pagkatapos ng kaniyang trabaho sa radio station. Biglang dumating ang kapulisan at hinuli silang lahat, matapos magsagawa ng illegal drugs buy-bust operation. Wala raw kamalay-malay si Karen sa ganoong klaseng aktibidad.
Makalipas ng limang taon ay nakalaya rin si Karen matapos mahatulang "not guilty" ng Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 151, sa sala ni Presiding Judge Maria Paz-Reyes-Yson, noong 2021.
At dahil nga sa nabalitang nangyari kay Awra matapos masangkot sa rambulan sa isang bar, inilarawan ni Karen sa kaniyang social media accounts ang personal na karanasan sa loob ng precinct jail.

"Reflecting on AWRA’s situation… Some people assume that when a person’s life’s sensationalized in their worst crisis, they can simply judge others and persecute them. It’s baffling that even educated family people speak such negative words riding on to judging others. Really? Family photo on your profile yet you speak so heartless. Things like this can happen to ANYONE. The thread goes on mocking Awra’s situation."
Dito ay muli niyang binanggit na "terible" ang kalagayan ng mga bilangguan sa Pilipinas.
"I wanted to paint a picture of what a precinct of any jail is. It’s terrible! In the Philippines they don’t provide food, you sleep on the floor that’s super cold with the cockroaches and mice and so on. You’re all cramped up like sardines. Best to sympathize and just pray for her."
