Nangako ang bagong secretary ng Department of Health (DOH) na isusulong nito na gawing sapat ang suweldo ng mga Pinoy nurse sa bansa.
"We need to pay them correctly and our nurses are the best in the world. How do I know that?... They're being asked by Presidents of other countries. They should be serving the Filipino people," ani DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa sa isang television interview nitong Huwebes.
Aniya, kukumbinsihin nito ang mga nurse na manatili na lamang sa bansa kasabay ng pangakong gagawa ng paraan upang maitaas ang kanilang sahod.
"The right for better life is embodied in our Constitution. If a nurse wants to go abroad to get a salary that I cannot give, I shouldn't stop that person because what I should look at is why I'm not able to pay the same amount so that they can be here in their own country, in their own family, enjoy the beautiful islands of the Philippines. So I will search for the solution of what will make them stay," anang opisyal.

Aniya, kukunin nito ang mga nurse na wala pang lisensya upang mapunan ang mga bakanteng posisyon sa DOH.
Idinagdag pa ng opisyal na sa DOH pa lamang, nasa 4,500 na ang bakanteng posisyon para sa mga nurse sa bansa.
