Pinakilos na ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang mahigit sa 27,000 na tauhan nito upang tumulong sa mga local government unit (LGU) sa pagtugon sa banta ng bagyong Betty.

Sinabi ni PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda, Jr., inatasan ang mga pulis na makipagtulungan sa mga local official para sa posibleng preemptive evacuation, at rescue and relief operations sa mga lugar na nakararanas ng hagupit ng bagyo.

Kumikilos pa rin ang bagyo sa dulo ng Northern Luzon, partikular na sa Cagayan Valley region.

"The PNP National Headquarters Critical Incident Management Committee, of which I am the chairman, has been activated to monitor, coordinate, and direct all disaster response efforts of PNP Units,” anang opisyal.

“PNP units at the municipal, city, and provincial levels are under specific instructions to keep all national highways and thoroughfares clear of road debris and obstruction to ensure unhampered passage of emergency vehicles, rescue equipment, and relief aid convoys to disaster-affected areas,” pagdidiin ni Acorda.

Bukod dito, nakikipagtulungan na rin sila sa mga opisyal ng local disaster risk reduction and management at sa Department of Social Welfare and Development para sa paghahanda ng food packs at iba pang tulong para sa maaapektuhan ng bagyo.
