Tumanggap si Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna ng parangal mula sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) bunsod nang di matatawarang suporta nito sa ahensiya.

Nabatid na ang alkalde ay pinagkalooban ng certificate of commendation at NBI badge ni NBI Assistant Director Rommel Papa, na siyang kumatawan kay NBI Director Atty. Medardo de Lemos, sa regular na flagraising sa Manila City Hall nitong Lunes ng umaga.

Sa kanyang talumpati, nagpaabot rin si Papa ng taos-pusong pasasalamat sa buong NBI, kay Lacuna, Vice Mayor Yul Servo at City Administrator Bernie.

“Since its inception, Manila had been the NBI’s home since 1936…and through the years, we’ve had a good working relationship with the city of Manila and even though we temporarily transferred to another city, Mayor Honey Lacuna extended her hand to help us. Kaya kami narito para magbigay ng taos-pusong pasasalamat sa city mayor, kay Vice Mayor Yul Servo at City Administrator Bernie Ang,” pahayag pa ni Papa.

Aniya, maging siya at ang iba pang opisyal ng NBI ay mayroon din komendasyon para sa alkalde.

Pinili lang ni Papa na basahin ang isa sa mga certificate, dahil aniya sobrang init ng panahon.

"For the excellent leadership and performance in successfully spearheading your office in the performance to support the bureau beyond its mandate zealously.To accept the bureau’s request is admittedly a most challenging role coupled with the unpredictable complexities. Despite this, perfect execution delivery of the task was achieved. Such a milestone exemplifies a commitment to a meaningful public service and manifest dedication to duty as a public servant worthy of recognition and emulation," nakasaad sa komendasyon.

Pagkatapos ay iprinisinta naman ni Papa sa alkalde ang isang NBI badge.

Matapos namang tanggapin ni Lacuna ang badge ay nagbiro ito ng: “Sir, ibig ba sabihin nito wala na ‘kong huli?”

Sa seryosong usapin ay nagpaabot ng pasasalamat si Lacuna sa NBI sa pagkilala at nagpahayag ng suporta sa ahensya sa abot ng kanyang makakaya.
