CEBU CITY – Patay ang isang miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA) sa engkwentro sa tropa ng gobyerno nitong Biyernes, Mayo 12, sa Antequera, Bohol.
Sa ulat ng Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO), kinilala ang nasawi bilang isang “Jasper,” isang political guide ng Sandatahang Yunit Propaganda (SYP) Platoon ng Bohol Party Committee (BPC).
Narekober ang isang .45 caliber pistol matapos ang bakbakan.
Idinagdag sa ulat na ang mga tauhan ng 47th Infantry Battalion, Bohol Regional Intelligence Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Mobile Force Company, Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, Antequera Municipal Police Station, at San Isidro Municipal Police Station ay nakipagsagupaan sa hindi bababa sa limang miyembro ng BPC.

Tumagal ng halos limang minuto ang bakbakan bago umatras ang mga rebelde, sabi ng BPPO.
Walang nasugatan o nasawi sa panig ng gobyerno.
Pinuri ni Lt. Gen. Benedict Arevalo, commander ng Visayas Command, ang patuloy na operasyon upang matiyak ang kapayapaan at seguridad sa lugar.
“I commend our troops for their steadfast commitment in ending the local communist armed conflict in the Visayas region,” ani Arevalo.
“This is a clear manifestation of our strong desire to attain just and lasting peace and sustain the democratic way of life for all the people in this part of the country,” dagdag niya.
Sinabi ni Arevalo na ang Communist Party of the Philippines-NPA (CPP-NPA) ay patuloy na dumaranas ng mga kabiguan.
"We are resolute in our ceaseless campaign to end the local communist armed conflict which has disrupted the lives and progress of our people in the Visayas. We, therefore, reiterate our call to the few remaining members of the CPP-NPA to lay down their arms and return to the folds of the law. Heed the call of our government for genuine peace before the long arms of justice will catch up with you,” saad ni Arevalo.
