Nasa 6,000 family food packs ang ipinadala ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa Batanes nitong Linggo, Mayo 7.
Sa Facebook post ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO), ipinaliwanag na bahagi ito ng prepositioning efforts ng pamahalaan sa iba't ibang bahagi ng bansa na posibleng tamaan ng kalamidad.
Ang libu-libong food pack ay ipinadala sa nasabing isla sakay ng Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas (BRP) Waray ng Philippine Navy.
"This was spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Central Office, through the Disaster Response Management Division Field Office 2, with the help of Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Batanes and the manpower augmentation from Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Marine Corps and staff of Batanes Provincial Government," ayon naman sa post ng DSWD-Region 2.
