Nagpahayag ng pagluluksa si dating Vice President Leni Robredo nitong Miyerkules, Abril 19, sa pagpanaw ni dating Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) secretary Albert del Rosario na tinawag niyang ‘makabayan’ at ‘matalik na kaibigan’.
Sa kaniyang social media post, inilarawan ni Robredo si del Rosario bilang “source of inspiration” sa marami pagdating sa serbisyo publiko.
“Our nation has lost a patriot, one of its most faithful sons,” ani Robredo.
“Sec Albert brought an indelible mark to me, more particularly. I first saw him up close during the wake of Jesse, in Malacañang. Always soft spoken, mild mannered and very respectful. He became a personal friend after that,” saad pa niya.

Nagsilbi si del Rosario bilang kalihim ng DFA ng yumaong dating pangulong Benigno Aquino III, habang si Jesse ang namuno sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) noong panahong iyon.
“But when I became Vice President, he always addressed me as Mrs. Vice President, even during casual conversations. I have always been in awe of his wisdom, resolve, and grace. His courage spoke volumes in difficult times,” ani Robredo.
Pumanaw si del Rosario sa edad na 83 noong Martes, Abril 18.
Naglingkod siya bilang top diplomat ng bansa mula 2011 hanggang 2016, kung saan siya humarap sa Arbitral Tribunal sa Hague upang ipagtanggol ang soberanya ng Pilipinas, at dinala ang bansa sa legal na pagkapanalo sa West Philippine Sea laban sa China.
“Maraming, maraming salamat, Ambassador, sa pagtindig para sa ating bayan hanggang sa huli,” saad ni Robredo.
