Nakiisa na ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa imbestigasyon sa pagkamatay ng isang Adamson University (AdU) student na pinaniniwalaang biktima ng hazing, sinabi ng Department of Justice (DOJ) nitong Miyerkules, Marso 1.
“The Secretary (Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla) has already asked NBI to conduct a parallel probe into the death of John Matthew T. Salilig,” sabi ni DOJ Assistant Secretary Jose Dominic F. Clavano IV.
Si Remulla ay kasalukuyang nasa Geneva, Switzerland para sa 52nd Session ng United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
“We hope to shed light on this issue on the death of Salilig,” ang 24-anyos na engineering student na tubong Zamboanga, ani Clavano.

“The Department condemns any violation of Republic Act No. 11053 or the Anti-Hazing Law,” aniya.
Samantala, aniya, "maghihintay ang DOJ sa anumang kaso na isasampa sa ating piskalya."
“Rest assured, any forthcoming case will undergo diligent evaluation,” aniya.
If probable cause with reasonable certainty of conviction is found, we will prosecute the case until the perpetrators of this crime are finally brought to justice,” dagdag niya.
Si Salilig ay naiulat na nawawala mula noong Pebrero 18 matapos siyang huling mamataan sa isang terminal ng bus. Siya ay pinaniniwalaang namatay habang sumasailalim umano sa hazing ng mga miyembro ng Tau Gama Phi fraternity.
Noong Pebrero 28, natagpuan ng mga awtoridad ang bangkay ni Salilig sa isang bakanteng lote sa likod ng isang subdivision sa Barangay Malagasang I-G sa Imus, Cavite.
