Inilunsad ng Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office) ang selyong Year of the Rabbit para sa pagdiriwang ng “Chinese New Year” sa Pilipinas nitong Linggo.

Naging bahagi ng pagtitipon ang mga kinatawan at opisyal ng Post Office at Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) na ginanap sa Seascape Village sa Pasay City noong Enero 20, 2023.

“The celebration is a manifestation of our solidarity with our Filipino-Chinese friends. For us, the Lunar New Year is an occasion to celebrate the rich heritage that both our nations have treasured,” ayon kay Postmaster General Norman Fulgencio.

“The recognition and respect for both the Filipinos and Chinese is being represented through the stamps,” ayon naman kay Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) Executive Vice President Ms. Mary G. Ng.

Ang pagdiriwang ng Chinese New Year ay hudyat ng pagsisimula ng tagsibol sa kalendaryo ng mga Tsino mula Enero hanggang Pebrero.

Itinatampok sa Year of the Rabbit Stamps ang mga makukulay na disenyo bilang bahagi ng kultura at malalim na pagkakaibigan ng dalawang bansa na ipinapakita sa maliliit na piraso ng “selyo”.

Ang impluwensya ng kulturang Tsino ay kinikilala sa bansa, mula sa pagkain, pagkonsulta sa mga eksperto sa Feng Shui, at pati na rin ang pagbabasa ng Chinese horoscope.

Nabatid na idinisenyo nina Post Office in-house artists’ Ryman Dominic Albuladora, Eunice Dabu at Agnes Rarangol ang mga makukulay na Year of the Rabbit postage stamps.

Maaaring mabili ang mga selyo, souvenir sheets, at official first-day cover simula Miyerkules, Enero 25.
