Natanggap na ng Department of Health (DOH) ang unang tranche ng anim na milyong pediatricCovid-19vaccine na mula sa Australia.
Ayon sa DOH, sa kasalukuyan ay umaabot na sa 2,280,000 doses ng pediatric Pfizer vaccinesmula sa Australian Government ang kanilang natanggap, sa pamamagitan ng suporta ng United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund(UNICEF).
Inaasahan namang darating na rin ang karagdagan pang 720,000 doses ng bakuna upang makumpleto ang tatlong milyong pediatric Pfizer vaccine doses.
“This is part of the six million total pediatric Pfizer vaccine doses to be donated to the Philippine Government by the end of this year in support of theCovid-19recovery of Filipinos, including children who have now started going back to school,” anang DOH, sa pahayag nitong Biyernes.

“Promoting children’s health and well-being is everyone’s responsibility. Helping children recover from the effects ofCovid-19requires a concerted effort from all sectors of society. By strengthening our partnerships and growing our collaboration with one another, we achieve more for children,” ayon naman kay UNICEF Philippines Rep. Oyunsaikhan Dendevnorov.
Nabatid na ang comprehensive package ngCovid-19assistance ng Australian Government para sa Pilipinas ay sinimulan sa pamamagitan nang delivery ng mga bakuna at pinalawig sa huling milya upang maabot ang pinaka-vulnerable na mga kabataan.
Kabilang rin sa suporta ng Australia, sa pamamagitan ng UNICEF Philippines, ang procurement at delivery ng solar-powered vaccine refrigerators, walk-in cold rooms, personal protective equipment at spare parts, at pagtiyak na ang mga life-saving vaccines ay makakaabot sa mga geographically isolated at disadvantaged communities.
Upang mapaghusay naman ang pagbabakuna ngCovid-19vaccines, tumutulong na rin ang Australian Government sa pagsasanay sa may 490 health staff sa cold chain management at pagkakaloob ng public health messaging sa may walong milyong tao sa 14 na local government units (LGUs).

Ang UNICEF Philippines at Australian Government ay matagal nang magkatuwang sa pagtiyak na napapangalagaan ang kapakanan ng mga kabataan sa mahabang panahon.
Bukod saCovid-19assistance, kabilang rin sa ipinagkaloob na tulong ng Australia ang SaferKidsPH, isang inisyatiba upang mabawasan ang online sexual abuse at exploitation ng mga bata sa Pilipinas, at risk-responsive social protection para sa mga kababaihan at mga kabataan.

We also congratulate our learners who continue to practice masking, hand washing, and maintaining physical distance in the classroom.
