Matapos ang paninilbihan bilang tagapagsalita ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa loob ng mahabang panahon, magreretiro na si James Jimenez sa Setyembre 16.
Tinanggap na ng Comelec ang pag-a-apply ni Jimenez ng optional retirement, ayon na rin sa isang liham na pirmado ni Executive Director Bartolome Sinocruz, Jr. nitong Agosto 31.
"The termination of your employment is without prejudice to your claims of benefits with this Commission, Government Service Insurance System, and Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG)," ayon sa naturang dokumento.
Kaagad na pinasalamatan ni Comelec chairman George Garcia si Jimenez sa mahabang panahon ng paninilbihan nito sa ahensya.

"The whole Comelec family expresses its gratitude and appreciationto Director Jimenez for his long exemplary service to the nation through the Commission. We wish him all the best as he embarks on this new chapter in his life," banggit ni Garcia.
Si Jimenez ay nagsimulang magtrabaho sa Comelec noong 2007, batay na rin sa impormasyong inilabas ng website ng ahensya.
Kasalukuyang director ng Education and Information Department ng Comelec si Jimenez.
