Sa pagbubukas ng panibagong taong panuruan, umarangkada rin ang pagsasananay ng mga voluntee tutor ng “Angat Buhay” para sa inisyatibang “Community Learning Hubs” na gagabay sa mga estudyante sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa ngayong pasukan.

Ikinasa ang pagsasanay noong Lunes hanggang Martes, Agosto 20-21, upang maabot ang layuning mapagtibay pa ang kalidad ng edukasyon ng mga estudyante mula elementarya hanggang hayskul.

Ang CLHs ay dati nang programa ng noo’y tanggapan ni Vice President Leni Robredo noong kasagsagan ng pandemya.

“Volunteerism is the fuel that drives us and our partners. Sabi nga parati ni Atty. Leni Robredo, ang aming Chaiperson sa Angat Buhay, the best people to address problems are those who experience them firsthand. Our young volunteers have felt the social effects of the pandemic, and now, they want to be part of the solutions to the problem plaguing the education sector and our learners in particular," ani Angat Buhay Executive Director Raffy Magno.

Target ng CLHs ngayon na punan ang education gap sa pamamagitan ng literacy and numeracy centers sa ilalim ng “Angat Buhay” na pagtutuunan ng pansin ang mga area ng reading at mathematics sa mga estudyante.

Sa ikalawang araw ng training, nilagdaan din ang isang memorandum of agreement (MOA) sa pagitan ng Angat Buhay, ilang partners, at CLH sites upang tiyak na maabot ang layunin ng programa.

"In the new chapter of Angat Buhay, we continue to carry our Community Learning Hub initiative—this time to focus on ensuring that our learners are able to read and comprehend numbers accordingly. We are happy to work with our 12 pilot sites from different parts of the Philippines to realize this goal. This weekend, we formalized our partnerships with them and facilitated their onboarding, where they learned from our partner experts, including those from the University of the Philippines College of Education and Chalkboard PH," ani Angat Buhay Chairperson Robredo.

“Binubuhay ng bayanihan ang ating Community Learning Hubs. Lubos ang ating pasasalamat sa ating volunteers, sa mga lokal na pamahalaan at mga barangay, at sa iba pang partners, na sinisigurong may espasyo sa mga komunidad para sa pagkatuto ng ating mga mag-aaral,” dagdag niya.
