SORSOGON - Tatlong pinaghihinalaang kaanib ngCommunist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) at inaresto naman ang dalawang kasamahan matapos makasagupa ang mga tropa ng gobyerno saSorsogon City ng nabanggit na lalawigan nitong Miyerkules.
Sinabi ni Police Regional Office-5 spokesperson Maj. Malu Calubaquib, ang operasyon ay isinagawa ng mga tauhan ngSorsogon Police Provincial Office (SPPO), Philippine Army, Sorsogon 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Intelligence Unit-Sorsogon Provincial Police, Prieto Diaz Municipal Police, Sorsogon City Police, Military Intelligence Company ng Philippine Army, 31st Infantry Battalion at 903rd Brigade sa Sitio Pinaglabanan, Barangay Gatbo.
"The firefight led to the death of three NPA members identified as Rene Ezperanzate Espano alias Anjo, Larangan 1 (L1), Komiteng Pamprobinsya 3 (KP3), team leader of Rebolusyonaryong Buwis sa Kaaway na Uri (RBKU), Jaime Fortadez alias Moy, vice commanding officer (VCO), L1, KP3 and Tony alias Amon. The two who were captured by the operatives were known as Janine Chavez and Leopoldo Laririt a.k.a. 'Ani'," pahayag ni Calubaquib.
Pagdidiinni Calubaquib, nagresponde lamang ang mga tropa ng pamahalaan sa lugar dahil sa reklamo ng mga residente na pangingikil umano ng mga rebelde saPrieto Diaz at Bacon District sa Sorsogon City.

Nasamsam ng mga awtoridad ang dalawang Baby Armalite rifles, mga bala, subersibong dokumento, at ilang gamot.
