CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY —- Nakatakdang idispatsa ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Region 10 ang limang container ng smuggled agricultural products na nasabat sa bakuran ng Mindanao International Container Terminal Services Inc. (MICTSI) sa PHIVIDEC Compound sa bayan ng Tagoloan , Misamis Oriental noong Huwebes, Hulyo 7.
Sinabi ni Cris Angelo Andrade, BOC-10 Information Officer, sa Manila Bulletin nitong Sabado, Hulyo 9, na nasa container yard pa rin ang P15 milyong halaga ng smuggled agricultural products habang hinihintay ang Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) na ilalabas ng ang bureau.
"Noong nakaraang Biyernes [Hulyo 8, 2022] ang pag-isyu para sa WSD ay inirekomenda na ng ating District Collector at ito ay para sa pag-apruba ng Commissioner," ani Andrade.
Sa isang pahayag na inilabas noong Hulyo 8, sinabi ng BOC na ang mga shipment na naka-consign sa Primex Export and Import Producer na dumating mula sa China noong Hulyo 2 ay idineklara bilang 'Autolysed Yeast in Powder Form.'

Noong Lunes, Hulyo 4, sinabi ni District Collector Atty. Nag-isyu si Elvira Cruz ng Pre-Lodgement Control Orders (PLCOs) laban sa mga padala sa pamamagitan ng kahilingan ng Customs Intelligence and Investigation Services (CIIS) CDO Field Station nang matanggap ang mapanirang impormasyon mula sa Intelligence Division-Intelligence Group.
“Contrary to its declaration, the shipments were found to contain red onions, white onions, and carrots which is a clear violation of Republic Act 10863 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act for misdeclaration of goods,” mababasa sa pahayag ng BOC.
Paliwanag ni Andrade, pagkatapos ng pagpapalabas ng WSD, ang BOC ang magdedesisyon kung paano itatapon ang mga smuggled agricultural products.
“Same with last seizures, it is possible that it would be destroyed because it does not have phytosanitary permits from the Department of Agriculture, which is hazardous to consume in public,” dagdag niya.
