Naging usap-usapan ang pagbubunyag ni Miel Pangilinan, anak nina Megastar Sharon Cuneta at outgoing Senator Kiko Pangilinan, na isa itong queer.
"This June, I am celebrating my first pride month as openly and publicly queer," ani Miel sa kaniyang Instagram post noong Hunyo 14.
"I really can’t figure out the words to say right now. it’s a really emotional and freeing time right now, and i’m endlessly thankful to my close friends and family who have supported me and shown me love as i’ve grown and explored my own gender and sexual identity."

Nagpakita na rin ng pagsuporta sa kaniya ang ilang celebrity friends, gaya ng mag-asawang Judy Ann Santos at Ryan Agoncillo.
Higit sa lahat, tanggap ng kaniyang mga magulang kung anuman ang kaniyang kasarian. Sa isang Instagram post, Miyerkules, sinabi ng Megastar na inaasahan niyang gagawa ng atensiyon ang paglaladlad ni Miel, at negatibo aniya ang marami dito.
Sunod na tiniyak ni Mega na walang problema at tanggap nila kung kapwa babae ang mamahalin ng anak at sinabing hindi nito mababago ang pagmamahal nila kay Miel.
Makikita naman sa IG post ni Miel ang komento rito ng kaniyang Daddy Kiko.

Ngunit positibo man ang naging pagtanggap ng nakararami ay may mga netizen ding hindi negatibo ang pagtanggap dito. Ibinahagi ni Kakie sa kaniyang Twitter ang pagtugon ni Miel sa isang netizen na nag-asam na sana ay fake news lang ang ginawa niyang paglaladlad.
"Please give Yellie some love today if you can! There are some homophobes in her inbox and mentions upset about her pride post," pakiusap ni Kakie.
Mapapansin sa mensahe ng netizen na bagama't umaasam siyang fake news ang pagbabantad ni Miel sa kaniyang kasarian, pinuri naman nito ang katapangan niya.
Sagot ni Miel, "This early?? Lmaoo (laughing my ass off obviously). I’m so sorry your heart is broken but unfortunately it’s true, I am queer.
“I’m so sorry you think that news like this is heartbreaking to you, but it isn’t to me. I am so sorry that the news of my coming out is so painful for your heart to bear. The fact that you’re wishing that my COMING OUT is fake news is insanely offensive to me."
