Hiniling na ng Department of Health (DOH) sa COVAX Facility na palitan ang mahigit sa 34 milyong doses ng pa-expire na coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine ng pamahalaan.
Sa televised public briefing nitong Biyernes, binanggit ni National Vaccination Operations Center chief, Dr. Myrna Cabotajena ang nasabing demand forecast ay isinagawa dahil sa inaasahang pangangailangan pa ng bakuna sa mga susunod na buwan.
“Ito ‘yung parang pampalit, ‘yung nag-e-expire na at ‘yung pwede pa ma-expire-an (Covid-19 vaccines) na kinabibilangan ng Sinovac, AstraZeneca, at Pfizer,” sabi nito.
“From the communication we received from COVAX, replacement for vaccine includes vaccines from all sources. So, hindi lamang po ‘yung galing sa kanila. They will also consider some vaccines that have been procured by the national government, even by the private sector and our local government," pahayag pa ni Cabotaje.
