Nakapagtala ang Philippine National Police (PNP) ng anim na pagkasawi sa pagsasagawa ng May 9 elections noong Lunes.
Sinabi ni PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo na nakapagtala rin sila ng 32 nasugatan sa 52 kaso ng karahasan karamihan sa Mindanao.
“But we are not yet classifying it as valid (election-related violent incident). These cases are still under investigation,” ani Fajardo.
Batay sa datos ng PNP, dalawa sa mga napatay ay sa bayan ng Binidayan ng Lanao del Sur; isa sa bayan ng Malabong, sa Lanao del Sur din; at tatlo sa Maguindanao.

Karamihan sa mga kasong ito ay nasa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BAR) at ito ay mga kaso ng pagsabog at insidente ng pamamaril,” ani Fajardo.
Nanindigan naman si Police Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao, PNP officer-in-charge, na mapayapa ang 2022 national at local elections kumpara sa presidential elections noong 2010 at 2016.
Sa pagbanggit ng datos, sinabi niya na mayroong 166 election-related violence noong 2010 habang 133 insidente noong 2016.
“Let me point out that the more important aspects of law enforcement and public safety have been given utmost priority throughout the election period. Rest assured that the PNP Security Task Force for the 2022 National and Local Election, thru the constituted Task Groups, are taking action on the said several cases arising from non-election related incidents as well as election-related violent incidents and prohibited acts,” sabi ni Danao.
“The PNP shall continuously conduct aggressive proactive measures to prevent any post election-related incidents and issues to happen,” dagdag niya.
