Nag-donate ang Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (TCJCLDS) sa San Fernando City, La Union ng apat na biothermal packaging units at 30,000 vaccination cards sa Department of Health – Ilocos Regional Office bilang suporta sa isinasagawa nitong COVID-19 vaccination at routine immunization campaigns.
Sa isang kalatas na inilabas ng DOH nitong Martes, nabatid na ang naturang donasyon ay pormal na itinurn-over ng TCJCLDS sa DOH-Ilocos sa isang simpleng seremonya sa TCJCLDS Chapel sa Brgy. Sevilla, San Fernando City, La Union kamakailan.
Labis naman ang pasalamat ni Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco sa mga opisyal at miyembro ng TCJCLDS at sinabing ang naturang donasyon ay napapanahon at mahalaga para sa ongoing immunization activities ng regional office.
“It is critical for vaccine products to be stored at appropriate storage temperatures to maintain their effectiveness at the point of use, and this is where these biothermal packages comes into place, by safely storing and transporting them from the point of origin to the distribution point,” ayon kay Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco.

“Several vaccines require ultra-cold or have cold-storage requirements that are different than others that is why biothermal packaging units are essential because they preserve the optimal immunogenicity and efficacy of each administered vaccine,” dagdag pa niya.
Nabatid na ang kabuuang halaga ng naturang mga donasyon ay aabot sa P510,000.
Tiniyak naman ni Sydiongco na gagamitin nila ang mga naturang donasyon para sa episyenteng paghahatid ng mga bakuna sa on-going COVID-19 at routine immunization activities sa rehiyon.
