Posibleng magdulot ng panibagong paglobo ng coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases ang tatlong Omicron sub-variants kapag pumasok sa bansa, ayon sa isang miyembro ng independentmonitoring group.
Nilinaw ni Filipino-American molecular biologist Fr. Nicanor Austriaco na mas nakahahawa angBA.4, BA.5 at BA.2.12.1 kumpara saBA.2 sub-variant na nangingibabaw sa Pilipinasat sa buong mundo.
"Any of these variants could trigger another surge in our country when it arrives because these 3 will outcompete the BA.2. These are probably very mild (but) we still do not want to get sick. This is why boosters are important.Even though they are mild for those who have immunity, they are not as mild and can be deadly for those who have lost their immunity or who have never had immunity in the first place," sabi nito sa isang panayam sa telebisyon.
Kamakailan, inihayag ng Department of Health (DOH) na hindi pa dapat ipangamba ang BA.4 at BA.5 at7 dahil wala pa naman ito sa bansa.7
