Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang inagurasyon ng Binondo-Intramuros Bridge Project ngayong Martes, Abril 5, sa Intramuros sa Maynila.

Pinuri ni Pangulong Duterte ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) dahil matagumpay nitong nakumpleto ang isa sa mga pangunahing proyekto ng Build, Build, Build Program sa kabila ng mga hamon na dulot ng Covid-19 pandemic.

"The DPWH and all its partners deserved the recognition for completing one of the key projects of this administration's Build, Build, Build Program. I laud you all for the hardwork you have done for this initiative to be accomplished," ani Duterte sa kanyang talumpati.

"Despite the unprecedented challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, you have all remained devoted to connecting people and places by completing this project." dagdag pa niya.

Pinasalamatan ng Pangulo ang People's Republic of China sa pagiging katuwang ng Pilipinas upang mabuo ang bagong tulay.

Ang Binondo-Intramuros Bridge Project ang ikalawang tulay na ipinagawa sa ilalim ng Philippines-China government-to-government cooperation projects.

"I also thank and with gratitude, The People's Republic of China for the confidence and for being a partner in enhancing key infrastructure projects in our country," saad ng Pangulo.

Kaugnay nito, mayroon ding mensahe si Duterte kay Ambassador Huang Xilian, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines. Aniya, wala awayan sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at China.

"The Philippines and China, we do not have any quarrel. We can talk about the Spratly Islands and probably the fishing rights of my countrymen... may not talk nothing else," saad ng pangulo.

Ayon pa sa pangulo, nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga Pilipino ng pagkakataon na maranasan ang paglago ng ekonomiya.

"In doing so, our people are given the chance to experience economic growth and enhanced productivity. Our nations are likewise working together towards greener, more sustainable, and climate-change resistant infrastructure," paglalahad pa niya.

Inihayag din ng Pangulo na sa pagtatapos ng kanyang administrasyon ay mananatiling itong tapat upang mabigyan ng maginhawang pamumuhay ang mga Pilipino.

"As my administration comes to a close, we remain committed to providing a comfortable life for every Filipino through various opportunities for growth and success.It is our hope that present and future generations will enjoy enhanced mobility and connectivity through innovative physical integration," dagdag pa nito.

Dumalo rin sa aktibidad si Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, kung saan nagkaroon din siya ng maikling talumpati, at maging ang mga opisyal ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas at ng China.

Bahagi ng Build, Build, Build Program ng Administrasyong Duterte ang Binondo-Intramuros Bridge at inaasahang magsisilbi ito sa mahigit 30,000 motorista at mapapabuti ang kalagayan ng trapiko Metro Manila.
