"While I respect every candidate's decision not to attend fora and interviews, one thing I can say is this. While BBM boycotted Jessica Soho because of her alleged bias against him, Leni Robredo eventually confirmed her participation in DZRH-Manila Times Presidential Job Interview despite my being there, who is known to be her critic," ani Contreras.

"That is what I call courage.

"Actually, we talked and exchanged pleasantries during the break. It turned out that her assistant was my student at DLSU. We spoke partly in our native tongue Bikol," panimula ni Contreras.

"I congratulated her for her interview and she sincerely thanked me for being fair and professional. I told her to take my criticisms as constructive as possible, as somehow these can even help her campaign. And she agreed," dagdag pa niya.

Nagpaabot din ng "good luck" si Contreras sa bise presidente para sa kanyang kandidatura: "As she left the studio, we bumped fists and we parted with me wishing her well and good luck in her candidacy."

"In politics, contentious disagreements occur. But on these occasions, I am a professional, a political science professor moonlighting in broadcast media. And beyond the criticisms and disagreements always lie our respect not only for each other, but for the country," aniya.

Paalala ni Contreras: "We should not allow our politics to divide us to a point that we forget our humanity."
