Hiniling ng Kontra Daya nitong Biyernes, Enero 28, sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) na imbestigahan ang alegasyon ni Commissioner Rowena Guanzon sa umano’y influence-peddling kaugnay sa mga disqualification case ni Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Sa isang pahayag, nanawagan din ang poll watchdog group sa Comelec First Division na ilabas ang desisyon sa mga kaso bago ang pagreretiro ni Guanzon sa susunod na buwan.

“The First Division should release its decision before Guanzon’s term expires on Feb. 2,” anang Kontra Daya.

“Failure to investigate and to immediately release the decision would put the Comelec’s credibility into further question. How can we expect clean and honest elections in a situation like this?” dagdag pa nito.

Si Guanzon ay parte ng First Division na humahawak sa tatlong disqualification cases laban kay Marcos Jr. na inihain ngAkbayan, Abubakar Mangelen at Bonifacio Ilagan et al.

Ang desisyon ay nakatakdang ilabas noong Enero 17 ngunit naantala matapos matamaan ng COVID-19 ang isang staff ng commissioner.

Sa isang panayam sa telebisyon nitong Huwebes, Enero 27, ibinunyag ni Guanzon na bumoto siya para i-disqualify si Marcos Jr.

“My vote is to DQ Marcos Jr. because I really believe there is (crime involving) moral turpitude based on evidence, on the law,” ani Guanzon.

Naniniwala ang poll official na kaya naaantala ang desisyon ay dahil umano sa kanyang boto.

“To knock out my vote, they think they can invalidate it by releasing the resolution of the ponencia after I retire, which cannot happen because I already submitted my separate opinion… That should already be on the record that I voted already," ayon sa poll official
