Inanunsyo ni Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon nitong Huwebes, Enero 27, na bumoto siya na i-disqualify si Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. na tumakbo sa May 2022 polls.

“Kaya nga ito nangyayari lahat eh, dahil ang boto ko is DQ (disqualify) si Marcos Jr. sa tingin ko may moral turpitude talaga based on evidence and the law,” panayam ni Guanzon sa GMA News.

Isinasaad ng Article I, Section 12 ng Omnibus Election Code “any person who has been declared by competent authority insane or incompetent, or has been sentenced by final judgment for subversion, insurrection, rebellion or for any offense for which he has been sentenced to a penalty of more than eighteen months or for a crime involving moral turpitude, shall be disqualified to be a candidate and to hold any office, unless he has been given plenary pardon or granted amnesty.”

Naniniwala si Guanzon, miyembro ng Comelec First Division na humahawak sa consolidated disqualification cases na inihain laban kay Marcos Jr., na sinadyang maantala umano ang desisyon para i-discredit ang kanyang boto na i-disqualify ang dating senador.

“So, to knock out my vote they think they can invalidate it by releasing the resolution of the ponencia after I retire, which cannot happen because I already submitted my separate opinion to all of them, including the chair and all the commissioners.That should already be on the record that I voted already,” paliwanag niya.

“My votes should be counted and considered by the next presiding Commissioner after me,” dagdag pa niya.

Sinabi niya na ang pagkaantala sa pagpapalabas ng desisyon ay tila hindi makatwiran at pakiramdam niya na may nakikialam at sinusubukang impluwensyahan umano ang mga komisyoner. 

Biro ni Guanzon, maaari niyang ibunyag ang mga pangalan sa Lunes, kung hindi pa ilalabas ang desisyon sa oras na iyon.

“Ayoko po talagang bigyan sana ng malisya yung ponente pero sinabi nga nung isang commissioner kahapon sa meeting namin e bakit yung ibang naraffle after pa sa Marcos nailabas naman," ani Guanzon.

Hindi niya pinangalanan kung sino ang ponente o ang komisyoner na naatasang sumulat ng desisyon ngunit ang dalawa pang miyembro ng first division ay sina Commissioners Aimee Ferolino and Marlon Casquejo.

“Siguradong powerful itong taong ito," ani Guanzon, nauukol sa kung sinumang nagpapaantala sa pagpapalabas ng desisyon. 

Ang tatlong consolidated cases na hinahawakan ng Comelec First Division ay ang mga inihain ninaAbubakar Mangelen, Akbayan at Bonifacio Ilagan et al.
