Tiniyak ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Dionardo Carlos na masisibak sa serbisyo ang walong pulis ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) matapos maaresto sa reklamo ng pitong Chinese at isang Pinay na nilooban ng mga ito sa Angeles City, Pampanga nitong Miyerkules ng madaling araw.
Idinahilan ni Carlos, hindi nila pinalalampas ang anumang iligal na gawain sa kanilang hanay kaya dapat na managot ang mga ito.
Kinilala naman ni CIDG director Maj. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro ang walo na sina Maj. Ferdinand Mendoza, Staff Sergeants Mark Anthony Reyes Iral at Sanny Ric Alicante; Corporals Richmond Francia, John Gervic Fajardo, at Kenneth Rheiner Ferrer Delfin; at Patrolmen Leonardo Veloso Mangales at Hermogines Rosario Jr., pawang nakatalaga sa Anti-Organized Crime Unit (AOCU) ng CIDG.
Nahaharap na ang mga ito sa kasong robbery in band, extortion, at illegal detention, bukod pa ang kasong administratibo.
“(The CIDG) will not tolerate misdeeds of its uniformed personnel. This is a semblance of what we call ICU -- inept, corrupt and undisciplined police personnel. We cannot allow this incident to tarnish the good performance, credibility established by the CIDG,” pagbibigay-diin ni Ferro nang dumalo sa isang pulong balitaan sa Camp Crame nitong Miyerkules, Enero 26.
Nauna nang naiulat na nakatanggap ng impormasyon ang CIDG regional field unit (RFU)-Region 3 kaugnay ng nagaganap na panloloob umano ng mga armadong lalaki sa isang residential area saDiamond Subd., Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, dakong 1:00 ng madaling araw.
Nang respondehan, naharang ang mga suspek at idinahilan nila sa mga tauhan ng CIDG-RFU na nagsasagawa sila ng buy-bust operation sa lugar.
“In the course of investigation, it was later learned that the suspects held the seven male Chinese nationals and one Filipino house servant inside the said house. It was also observed that all of the things inside the said premise are in disarray. Twelve computers that are set up similar to POGO operation was noticed at the living room,” ayon sa ulat ng RFU.
“The team leader claimed that they are conducting buy-bust operation of firearms in the said place. However, it was later found to be untrue. When their vehicles were checked, assorted belongings of the Chinese were found therein including cash money amounting to more or less PHP300,000 and US dollar bills,” ayon sa police report.
Napansin naman ng arresting team ang 12 na computer na nakapuwesto na katulad ng nasaPhilippine Offshore Gaming Operators, sa loob ng bahay.
“During the inquiry with the suspects, it was later learned that they were members of the PNP CIDG assigned at the AOCU,” sabi pa sa ulat.
Ang mga suspek ay pansamantalang nakakulong sa CIDG Angeles Criminal Field Unit habang inihahanda ang kanilang kaso.
