Namahagi ang Taguig City government ng 10,000 capsules ng oral COVID-19 drug na molnupiravir sa City Health Office (CHO) na ibibigay sa mga pasyente.

Noong nakaraang taon, nagbigay ang Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ng emergency use authorization (EUA) para sa paggamit ng molnupiravir sa pasyenteng may mild at moderate COVID-19.

“Indicated for treatment of mild to moderate coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in adults 18 years old and above with a positive SARS-COV-2 diagnostic test and who are at risk for developing severe illness,” ayon sa EUA ng FDA para sa molnupiravir.

Ayon sa FDA, "COVID-19 Drug Molnupiravir 800mg (four 200mg capsules) should be administered orally every 12 hours for five (5) days. This should be given as soon as possible after a diagnosis of COVID-19 has been made and within 5 days of symptom onset.”

"“COVID-19 Drug Molnupiravir is not recommended for women with childbearing potential, pregnant and lactating women,” dagdag pa ng ahensya.

Ayon kay Mayor Lino Cayetano ang molnupiravir ay importante upang mapababa ang hospitalization rate sa lungsod.

“Despite of the continuous surge, Taguig has low rates of hospitalization. With this new medicine, we assume that severe cases will be avoided,” aniya.

Maaaring makakuha ang mga residente, na positibo sa COVID-19, ng naturang gamot sa pamamagitan ng pagtawag sa Telemedicine ng kanilang barangay.

Ang mga pasyente ay susuriin ng isang doktor kung karapat-dapat silang mabigyan ng gamot at ihahatid ito sa kanilang tahanan.
