Iniulat ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na naging generally peaceful ang unang araw nang pagpapatupad ng ‘no vaccination, no ride policy’ sa National Capital Region (NCR), bagamat mayroong 1,749 train commuters ang nagtangkang sumakay sa mga tren nang walang katibayan na sila ay fully-vaccinated na.
Anang DOTr, base sa ulat ng Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) at Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT), na siyang mga pangunahing ahensya na responsable sa pagpapatupad ng polisiya, ang unang araw ng implementasyon ng polisiya ay ginugol ng mga enforcers sa pagpapaliwanag sa mga commuters ng mga guidelines nito.
Anila pa, naging cooperative naman at compliant sa department order ang mga commuters.
“According to reports from our men on the ground, most of the passengers were prepared for the policy. They voluntarily handed over their vaccination cards to our enforcers for thorough inspection and verification before boarding public utility vehicles (PUVs),” ayon kay Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade.

Sinabi naman ni Assistant Secretary for Road and Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor, “Since this is just the first day of the policy’s implementation, our enforcers were instructed to just issue the violators warnings instead of outrightly apprehending them for non-compliance.These persons were later properly turned over to their respective local government units (LGUs) for assistance.”
Samantala, iniulat naman ni DOTr Undersecretary for Railways TJ Batan na kabuuang 1,749 commuters ang nagtangkang sumakay sa mga tren sa Metro Manila nang hindi nagpapakita ng katibayan ng kanilang pagpapabakuna.
Pinakamarami aniya sa Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) na nasa 1,204; nasa 401 naman sa Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1); 136 sa LRT-2 at walo sa Philippine National Railways (PNR).
Matatandaang nitong Lunes ay umarangkada na ang “no vaccination, no ride” policy na inisyu ni Tugade, na ang layunin ay makatulong na masugpo ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 at maprotektahan laban sa virus ang mga indibidwal na hindi pa bakunado laban dito.
Mananatili ang pag-iral ng polisiya habang nasa COVID-19 Alert Level 3 o mas mataas pa ang NCR.
Ang NCR ay nasa ilalim pa ng Alert Level 3 hanggang sa katapusan ng Enero.
