Nagbabala ang Food and Drug Administration (FDA) nitong Linggo, Ene. 16 sa lahat ng healthcare professional at sa publiko laban sa pagbili ng molnupiravir, isang iniimbestigahang gamot na ginagamit sa treatment sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19), mula sa mga hindi awtorisadong entity.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng FDA na ang biglaang pangangailangan para sa produktong gamot dahil sa kamakailang pagsirit ng COVID-19, ay umakit sa mga ganid na indibidwal o organisasyon mula sa pamamahagi at pagbebenta ng molnupiravir sa merkado sa mas mataas na presyo kahit na walang kaukulang awtorisasyon.
“Buying medicines in unlicensed establishments or over the internet can pose serious health risks. Furthermore, a medicine bought in an unlicensed establishment or online cannot be guaranteed as genuine and may contain no active ingredient, too much or too little active ingredient which may result in the condition/ailments not being treated correctly. Also, this medicine may not be stored correctly in accordance with its appropriate storage condition,” sabi ng FDA.
“Healthcare professionals, patients and consumers are strongly advised to access Molnupiravir only through the Department of Health as the national procurer for drug products under EUA or to hospitals/institutions granted with CSP,” dagdag nito.

Ang Molnupiravir ay ginawang available sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng Compassionate Special Permit (CSP) na ibinibigay ng FDA sa isang aplikanteng ospital, institusyon, o lisensyadong manggagamot na may pinangalanang pasyente sa pamamagitan ng isang tagagawa o importer ng gamot na lisensyado ng FDA.
