Tutulungan ng mga pulis sa Metro Manila ang pagpapatupad ng paghihigpit sa paggalaw ng mga hindi pa bakunadong indibidwal sa gitna ng tumataas na kaso ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Ngunit sinabi ni Philippine National Police chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos na ang pakikiisa ng pulisya sa pagpapatupad nito ay gagawin lamang pagkatapos maipasa ang ordinansa ng mga kinauukulang local government units (LGUs).
“The Philippine National Police (PNP) will assist in the enforcement of mandates that will require the public to present valid vaccination cards upon entry to malls and other establishments,” ani Carlos.
“The PNP doesn’t decide on its own. We base our enforcement on approved orders,” dagdag niya.

Nagpasa ng resolusyon ang Metro Manila Council noong Linggo, Enero 2, para higpitan ang paggalaw ng mga hindi bakunadong indibidwal.
Inaasahang maipapasa nila ang ordinansa ngayong linggo.
“We asked our personnel on the ground to coordinate properly with the LGUs so there will be a clear and uniform direction on how to implement ordinances including the exemptions to the rule, should there be any. We don’t want to end up with varied interpretations on the actual application of the provisions,” ani Carlos.
“The PNP will assist in case tension escalates due to resistance of the public in showing proof of vaccination. We remind these private security officers to keep their cool and learn to diplomatically explain the basis of such policy,” dagdag niya.
