Isinailalaim sa imbestigasyon ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) sa tax fraud ang Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation at 75 iba pang kumpanyang may mga kontrata ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19) supply sa gobyerno.
Ito ang ibinunyag ni BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay nang isinumite niya sa Senado ang “23 tax records” na huling hiniling kaugnay ng Senate inquiry nito sa kontroberysal na P8.7 bilyong kontrata ng suplay ng COVID-19 na naiuwi ng Pharmally.
Ayon sa BIR chief, bumuo na siya ng special team ng regional directors, district officers, tax fraud at prosecution officials para i-verify ang tax compliance ng 76 na kumpanyang nakakuha ng kontrata sa COVID-19 sa Department of Health (DOH).
Ang task force ay pinamumunuan ni Deputy Commissioners Marissa Cabreros para sa legal group at Arnel SD Guballa para sa operations.

“Just like any other taxpayer, we will verify the tax compliance of these firms and file the appropriate criminal complaints against those found to have violated the Tax Code,” sabi ni Dulay.
Aniya, may kabuuang 115 na Letter of Authority ang inisyu para i-audit ang financial records ng mga kumapanya, kung saan ang mga pangalan ay hindi isiniwalat.
Sinabi ni Dulay na ang mga talaan ng buwis ay isinumite sa blue ribbon committee ng Senado upang makumpleto ang imbestigasyon nito sa “2022 Commission on Audit report, especially the procurement of DOH related to COVID-19.”
“As long as [it is] within our powers, the BIR will cooperate with the Senate investigation about the alleged anomalous government procurement deals for the country’s response to the pandemic,”sabi ni Dulay.
