DAVAO CITY—Habang hindi pa naglalabas ng pahayag ang kampo ni Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy sa mga kasong sex trafficking sa kanya ng US Department of Justice, isang lokal na kandidato ang nanawagan sa gobyerno ng Pilipinas na “maglunsad ng sariling imbestigasyon” sa isyu.
“The Philippine government should initiate its own investigation to ascertain if our own laws on human trafficking and violence against women and children were broken,” sabi ni Maria Victoria Maglana na tumatakbo para sa unang distrito ng congressional seat ng lungsod, sa isang pahayag nitong Biyernes, Nob. 19.
“Legislators may want to inquire on the status of implementation of RA 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act) and RA 7877 (Anti-Sexual Harassment Act), among others, to ensure that these laws are applied regardless of who is involved,” giit ni Maglana.
