Sumusunod sa inilatag na health protocols ng national government ang mga sementeryo, kolumbarya, at memorial parks sa Metro Manila habang papalapit na ang obserbasyon sa All Soul’s Day, ito ang nakita ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) nitong Martes, Oktubre 26.
Ani MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos, “well-prepared” ang lahat ng sementeryo sa National Capital Region pagdating sapag-aakomoda sa mga bisita habang “the influx of people has spread out as they visit their departed loved ones this early.”
Nakaantabay din ang mga police assistance desks sa mga sementeryo upang masiguro na 30 percent na kapasidad ng sementeryo lamang ang ookupahin.
Ito ang obserbasyon ni Abalos matapos bisitahin ang Manila North Cemetery at Garden of Life Park sa Madaluyong, dalawang araw bago ang limang araw na pagsasara ng mga sementeryo at iba pang memorial park sa Metro Manila upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19.

“We encourage the public to schedule their visits to their departed loved ones before the closure to avoid crowding and ensure the health and safety of everyone,”sabi ni Abalos.
“While it is important to abide by the guidelines set by the IATF and to observe minimum health protocols, it is likewise significant to practice self-discipline to ensure that we will have an Undas that is safe from the COVID-19 virus,”dagdag niya.
