Inanunsyo ng National Museum of the Philippines, Oktubre 11, ang pansamantalang pagsasara ng National Planetarium Museum sa Rizal Park, lungsod ng Maynila.
"There are times in the life of a beloved institution where a long chapter has to be brought to a close in order to start a new one, for a new contemporary world and a new set of generations of Filipinos," anunsyo ng National Museum of the Philippines sa kanilang Facebook page.
"Thus it is, with a measure of sadness, fondness and nostalgia – but also with anticipation and excitement for its future, that we announce the temporary closure of the National Planetarium as an institution and the decommissioning of its 46 year-old premises in the central section of Rizal Park, Manila," dagdag pa sa kanilang pahayag.
Ayon sa post, ang pagsasara ay upang bigyang daan ang mga proyekto ng National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) sa central at western sections ng Rizal Park.

Magkakaroon ng mga pagbabago sa lumang building ng Planetarium.
Gayunpaman, natutuwa ang National Museum of the Philippines na daan sa mga pagbabago ang lugar na ito upang mas mapaayos at kaaya-aya sa publiko.
Inaasahan na magpo-post pa ang museo ng mga update tungkol sa mga pagbabago ukol sa nasabing lugar.
Ang National Planetarium o Museo ng Pambansang Planetaryo ay matatagpuan sa pagitan ng Japanese at Chinese Garden sa Padre Burgos Avenue. Ito binuksan sa publiko noong Oktubre 8, 1975.
